CIVIC VR
Civic VR
Developed for The Box & Archives Museum in Plymouth Devon. The goal of the project was to re-create one of Plymouth’s most iconic and controversial building as a way of creating a meaningful discussion and conversation about Plymouth and its history.
GDXR was responsible for developing the standalone VR application. The project itself used a combination of 3D environments and realtime data, 2D, 360 degree video and audio to allow user the ability to navigate and tour Plymouth’s deralict Civic Centre. Traveling from the exterior, all the way through to the resturant located on the top floor. While doing so the user can watch historic footage from the Archives, from videos captured of the opening of Plymouth’s Theatre Royal to Plymouth’s once forgoten superstore, Dingles burning down and being re opened.
